Most of the streets and buildings in St Ives are very old, and not all lend themselves to easy vehicle access... be sure to check the parking situation with your B&B on booking!
When looking for accommodation... don't forget that while there are plenty of places to stay in St Ives, there are other towns with good transport links to St Ives that have their fair share of places to stay, too...
Carbis Bay is in walking distance of St Ives and has many hotels and B&Bs of its own - some of these are great value - not to mention its own beautiful beach! The 15-20 minute walk into St Ives centre is all downhill (and there are some wonderful places to admire the view on the way!) but if walking isn't your thing or you don't want to brave the uphill trek home, a taxi costs between £5 and £7 depending on the time of day.
Penzance is the biggest town in the area and has excellent National Rail links. About 8 miles from St Ives, it is a short drive or about a £20 taxi - good value if there are a few of you!
Hayle is a stone's throw from St Ives and has a sprawling sandy estuary that makes for a lovely walk if you have time. Last year they started a brand new park and ride service where they take you over to St Ives by boat -- pre-booking is required. www.stivesboatrides.co.uk/
Lelant is a beautiful little town on the way out of St Ives - the other side of Carbis Bay - and it is here the Park & Ride is located. This is an excellent way to get in and out of St Ives as the train ride you take is absolutely breathtaking, and well worth a go if you are in the area.
CAMPING
There are plenty of campsites and caravan parks around St Ives - just Google it and see what comes up!
Lower Penderleath Campsite is offering DISCOUNTED PITCHES of just £7 per person per night for Sold As Soul Club guests - just mention the event upon booking.
This beautiful campsite is located on the outskirts of St Ives and the water on site has "Natural Mineral Water" status, meaning you can drink, cook and shower in it! It offers fantastic facilities; campers have use of a toilet and shower block, a fridge freezer, and electrical sockets, amongst other things.

BY CAR
If you do make the journey to St Ives by car, there is no parking at the venue. But never fear, because there is ample pay & display parking around the town most of which is within easy walking distance and ALL of which will treat you to quirky streets, sandy beaches or beautiful views. Somebody has very kindly compiled this information for us already; check it out here:
If you would rather not risk the crowds (St Ives can get busy in summer, though our weekender is before the summer holidays start so it is not too manic!) you can always park out of town/leave your car at the hotel, and get a taxi in.
